cherry_tomatoes-25-2Are you looking for outdoor activities to keep the little ones occupied over theweekends? Look no further than the Cherry Tomatoes Gardening Club at GardenShop Bryanston. A healthy pastime for children between the ages of three and seven, it encourages youngsters to get planting and to appreciate one of life’s simplest but most rewarding leisure activities: Gardening.

The veggie patch nurtures an appreciation for nature that promotes healthy lifestyles with a focus on teaching valuable life skills in a safe and stimulating environment.

“It is proven that gardening with kids cultivates life skills and has wellness benefits that range from physical activity to mental health gains. Children are also more likely to make healthy food choices if they grow their own fruits and vegetables,” says co-founder of the Cherry Tomatoes Gardening Club, Nicola Brown.

For this reason, the gardening club teaches children about the joys of gardening and growing your own food through practical experiences that encourage outdoor play.

cherry_tomatoes-84-2“This is a unique programme which aims to inspire and excite young children at the same time teaching them to be environmentally aware. We do this through fun and stimulating activities that teach children about the workings of nature and the fascinating world of gardening,” she adds.

The first class kicks off on Saturday, 05 November 2016 with groups of 10 to 12 members and will continue with its holiday programme from 12 to 15 December. In January 2017, it will offer seasonal membership packages.
