Rumex acetosella or Sorrel. Sorrel, is a perennial herb. Other names for sorrel include spinach dock and narrow-leaved dock. It is a common plant in grassland habitats and is cultivated as a garden herb or salad vegetable.
Aside from adding flavour, the leaves are used to aid digestion, treat liver problems and cure throat and mouth ulcers. Because sorrel provides a hefty dose of fibre, vitamins A, C and B6, iron, magnesium, potassium and calcium, it’s considered a health food.
