Madagascan Palm or Madagascar Halfmens Tree
Pachypodiium lamerei or Madagascan Palm. A tall, ultimately tree-like succulent from Madagascar, hence the name Madagascan Palm, with a pronounced stem covered in grey thorns. The branch tips bear lush, glossy green leaves and ultimately produce clusters of fragrant, white Frangipani-like flowers.
It grows into an impressive specimen plant for frost-free gardens. In the garden ensure that plants have sufficient space to which to grow as they can attain a mature height of 6 metres. They are often used as an indoor pot plant.
