Description
Kale Chou Moullier
Brassica oleracea acephala
Brassica oleracea acephala or Kale Chou Moulier. This species is the tallest growing of the forage brassicas as it can grow up to 240 cm high. The stems are thick, juicy and sweet and the large leaves are often used in stir-fries, smoothies or to make kale chips.
Kale is a cool season crop that loves frost, and if established in late summer to autumn, the plants will continue to grow through winter. In cooler regions it can also do well if sown in early spring.
