  • Plant white flowers, in the shade, to brighten up a dark corner.
  • Summer storms can cause devastating runoff, so make sure you have a good mulch, which will break the fall of the water.
  • Think of adding lights to your garden, for blissful summer evenings on the lawn or patio.

  • Seeds to Sow:
    • Ageratum
    • Alyssum
    • Lobelia
    • Marigold
    • Nasturtium

  • Veggies to Sow:
    • Beans
    • Cabbages
    • Carrots
    • Lettuce
    • Onions
    • Tomatoes

  • Before going on holiday:
    • Pick off all deadheads and fruit.
    • Weed the whole garden
    • Give your whole Garden a thorough soaking, and place all your pot plants in a trench in the shade.
  • Bearded irises can be divided now – or just remove the dead leaves and flowers.
  • Hydrangeas will be at their best now. Pick the mature flowers for the vase.
  • Plant some beautiful Agapanthus now – there are a number of stunning varieties available at GardenShop.
  • Buy a Gardenia or Honeysuckle for sweet summer scent.
  • Do not forget to mulch to keep the soil moist.
