Rose Andrea Steltzer

Named after Andrea Stelzer, who won the Miss South Africa title in 1985 and three years later the title of Miss Germany.

To select this rose was an easy task. This clear pink rose, with its extremely long stems, has large pointed blooms. The stems are 1m long. To view a bed with hundreds of stems, each carrying one perfectly shaped bud or bloom, is a breathtaking sight! It is quite amazing to watch the long-pointed buds develop from stage to stage. Perfectly shaped, they reveal unflawed beauty as their firm petals reflex whilst the sharply pointed centre maintains its shape throughout.

When planted closely together, the narrow upright bushes will form tall hedges, providing an inexhaustible supply of quality cut-flowers fit for a florist. The glossy foliage is mildew-resistant. However, during rainy spells it is advisable to spray preventatively for black spot.

The first blooms were chosen as Champion Rose at an autumn rose show and I predict that this rose, with its charm and its elegance, will remain a firm favourite with judges for years to come.
