Description

Cordyline australis

Cordyline are palm-like evergreen shrubs or tree-like perennials, with rosettes or tufts of linear or anrrowly lance-shaped, leathery leaves, and terminal panicles of fragrant, cup-shaped flowers followed by small.

Most cordyline species are woody-stemmed, evergreen shrubs grown for their attractive foliage in shades of green, bronze, purple. They naturally and gradually loose the older leaves giving the plants palm-like appearance.

In favourable weather, plants flower freely. This causes no harm and flowers can either be removed or retained and cut out later when no longer attractive.
